Does your online presence show why guests should choose your hotel?
Your hotel has character. But do guests recognise online what makes it special, and do they find the information they need to decide to book? SALT reviews your online presence from a guest's point of view: from your website and selected platform profiles through a test booking to your pre-arrival emails. You receive an annotated report with concrete actions and clear priorities, so you know what already convinces and what to improve first, before you invest time and budget in changes.
Clarity for your guests' booking decision
You learn whether guests understand what makes your hotel special, what they can expect and how to book. You see where information is missing, questions stay open or uncertainty arises.
A consistent picture of your hotel
Website, platform profiles and communication shape your guests' expectations together. You see where images, texts and information fit, and where contradictions convey a different picture.
Knowing what to improve first
Before you commission new photos, rewrite texts or change your website: the report shows what stands out from a guest's point of view, with concrete actions and an order for putting them into practice.
Particularly suitable: Existing boutique hotels that want to improve their online presence deliberately and are looking for an independent view before their next investment · Requirement: your hotel can be booked online through its own website

What recommendations in the Online Audit look like
Illustrative example: this excerpt shows how a recommendation is structured and does not come from an audit carried out for a client.
- Observation
- The website describes two room categories as "individual and comfortable". What the higher-priced category offers in addition only becomes clear during booking.
- What it means for guests
- Guests find it hard to understand the price difference on the rooms page. They lack concrete points of comparison to choose.
- Recommendation
- Name the key differences directly with the room categories, such as size, view, outdoor space and special features, and show the added value with suitable images.
- Priority: high
- The information supports a concrete booking decision.
- Estimated effort: low
- If the information and suitable images already exist, the rooms page can be supplemented in a targeted way.
Optional: phone test enquiry
+ Price on requestHow convincingly does your hotel come across on the phone? SALT makes a specific enquiry from a guest's point of view and assesses information, tone, advice and how well the call leads towards a booking. A single call is a snapshot.
- An enquiry scenario tailored to your hotel
- One test call; if nobody answers, at most two further attempts
- Written assessment with concrete recommendations, as a supplement to the report
Not bookable yet. The Online Audit report is delivered independently of it.

For you, that means strategic ambition, atmosphere and guest experience are thought through together with the reality of your operation, so that what is developed suits your hotel and your team can carry it.
When do the two calendar days start?
From when your completed questionnaire and all required materials arrive, not from purchase. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays count. If anything is missing, you'll be told exactly what; once it's in, you receive your delivery date.
Does the test booking cost anything?
No. The test booking is made through your hotel website on conditions clarified in advance with free cancellation, and is cancelled afterwards. Booking through platforms such as Booking.com is not part of the audit.
How are the pre-arrival emails reviewed?
You provide your existing emails or templates, in the questionnaire or as a reply to my email. Content, clarity and the information they contain are reviewed. The booking confirmation is reviewed from the actual test booking. Whether all emails are sent automatically is not tested. No real guest data is needed.
What if my hotel can't be booked online through its website?
Then let's clarify personally before you buy whether the Online Audit suits your hotel. Send me a short message via the contact form.
Is implementation included?
The audit covers the analysis and concrete recommendations. You can commission implementation and further consulting from SALT separately. You can send one short question about the report by email; a review meeting is not included.
What else is not part of the Online Audit?
The stay itself: what happens inside the hotel can't be judged remotely; that's what the Mystery Check is for. Technical, SEO, advertising or conversion analyses aren't part of it either.
Will this bring more bookings?
Nobody can honestly promise that. You get clear priorities and can base decisions about texts, images or website changes on concrete observations; what improvements achieve depends on implementation and many other factors.
