How do guests experience your hotel, from arrival to farewell?
Whether a stay feels right depends on how things work together: how the arrival goes, how rooms and atmosphere come across, how the team responds to guests and how the farewell feels. From inside your own hotel, that is hard to see. For the Mystery Check, SALT stays unannounced as a guest and looks, with experience in hotel operations and guest experience, at what carries your hotel's character and where things break. The result is recommendations you can follow, to make your guest experience more coherent and more personal.
What carries your hotel's character
You learn which moments, gestures and details define your hotel during a stay, so you can strengthen them deliberately rather than leave them to chance.
Where things break
Where arrival, atmosphere, service and farewell don't fit together or fall short of what guests expect, and what in the process may cause it.
Which changes make sense
Prioritised recommendations and a 45-minute debrief where you can ask questions, put things in context and decide what to tackle.
Particularly suitable: Existing boutique hotels that want to make their guest experience more coherent and more personal · Owners who can't be an anonymous guest in their own hotel

Which areas are included in the price?
One night with arrival, check-in, room, breakfast and departure, plus report and debrief. Restaurant, bar, spa or other areas by agreement; they can add effort and cost. The exact scope is agreed in writing before booking.
Who pays for travel and the stay?
They are agreed in advance and charged separately. Nothing is booked or paid until you have confirmed the date, scope and expense estimate.
Is this representative guest research?
No. It's a single, carefully documented stay seen through an experienced eye. It complements your guest feedback but doesn't replace it.
Will my team know?
Not beforehand; the stay is unannounced. How you share the results with your team is something we can discuss in the debrief.
Is a Mystery Check possible internationally?
Yes. Travel time and costs are agreed individually in advance.
Tell us the property, location and possible dates. You'll receive a proposal for date, scope and expenses. Nothing is booked or charged until you've agreed in writing.
For businesses only: booking exclusively for commercial or independent professional purposes. Our terms and conditions apply.
