A practice built between strategy and atmosphere.
SALT is a boutique hospitality strategy and experience design studio. The work is small in scale and considered in scope — concept, identity, guest experience, and operational clarity, treated as one continuous practice.

SALT was created from a single belief: the most memorable places are not the loudest ones — but the clearest, the most intentional, and the most deeply felt.
That belief sits underneath every project: an insistence on substance over surface, on coherence over noise, on places that hold together because they were thought through with both head and hand.
Four convictions that shape the work.
Clarity before aesthetics.
A place can only feel beautiful when it knows what it is. Strategy precedes surface — always.
Atmosphere is a discipline.
It is not decoration. It is the result of decisions made about light, language, rhythm, ritual, and restraint.
Memorable is quiet.
The most distinctive places rarely shout. They are confident enough to whisper, and precise enough to be remembered.
Strategy must work in service.
If a concept cannot survive contact with operations, it isn't a concept yet. SALT designs both ends together.

Penelope Sieper
Penelope founded SALT to bring strategic precision and hospitality sensibility into one practice. Her work moves between concept and operation — between how a place is imagined and how it actually feels at the front desk, in the suite, at the table.
She works with a small number of boutique hospitality founders and properties each year, with deliberate care taken in selecting each engagement.

Where soul meets system.
